Chic Meets Cheap

Hey gals,

It has been a very long while since I have written anything on this blog, Since I’ve started work I have had no time what so ever to write…  But since I am held up in a hospital bed at the moment, what better time to start ….
But I come to you today as last night the buzz in the fashion world was focused the launch of Versace for H&M… I am so excited about this launch, judging by some of the clothes and accessories that are in the collection… OMG I am definitely blowing this month’s salary on them…My favourite piece comes in the form of this bag… Its £99.99 but it just oozes Versace chic, I have fallen in love. This bag is bright and colourful great to brighten up these cold winter days & nights. Detailed with the signature Versace logos, rope chain handle and bang on trend leopard print.  Yes now I know £99.99 is a very steep price for a bag but hey lets be real how many times can you buy a Versace bag for a steal…. And what about this bag for £69.99 *Otis Scream* Ok, the bag has hot pink in the design, need I say more. The colours really bounce off each other’s this bag is just begging to be in my collection. And like the leopard print bag can be worn day, night preferably in the day so everyone can see how sexy is bag is. Apart from these two gorgeous bags, they of course have a number of other sophisticated accessories in the forms of belts, rings, a very eye catching chocker and the most gorgeous scarf I have seen since forever Pink with a multi-coloured leopard print design.
So last night the buzz in the fashion world was all about the launch night in NYC for the Versace for H&M collection, it was attended by Jennifer Hudson, Jessica Alba and Blake Lively, Kesha,  Jessica Alba and Blake Lively, Kesha,  Jessica Alba and Blake Lively, Kesha,  to name a few also performances by my girl crush Ms Nicki Minaj and the legend that is Prince. Well I am definately excited about the UK Launch, unfortunately it is not going to be as glamorous as New York launch but never less I can not wait for it. Launching on 17th November this collection will be available from selected H&M stores...

Wonder Woman to the Rescue

Right so it has been a while.... I have been so busy; I have not had a minute to write anything.  And I’m so excited posted my first Video blog last weekend, so go check it out ... @ http://www.youtube.com/user/BajanFrutee25?feature=mhum
Anyway, so I been waiting absolutely ages for the Wonder Woman to launch here, and finally about 2 maybe 3 weeks ago it’s come out....  J
My favourite out of the 3 eye shadow palettes is Lady Justice, although Valiant could also squeeze into 1st place as well.  I have yet to purchase Defiance.
I’m quite impressed with the packaging for Wonder Woman, very bright, an in your face red and it’s my favourite colour too, so 2 thumbs’ up... A lot of other blogs and v/blogs I have read or watched people seem to be slating the packaging but I absolutely love it.
So starting with Lady Justice, it has four colours in the palette which include Bold Babe, Deep Truth, Insurmountable and last but not least Lady Justice.  These colours are really Smokey, sultry and sexy.  With all MAC eye shadows I find you must use a primer or the colour does not show very well and this is the case as well with the Lady Justice and Valiant.
One of the colour ways in which you can layer the colours are by first using Bold Babe all over the eyelid to the crease line and blend out, then using the lady justice colour under the eyebrow and Insurmountable on the brow bone just under where you placed Lady Justice.  Blend them downwards towards the Bold Babe. Now at the corner of your eyelid add a little of the Deep Truth and blend that evenly into the Bold Babe and into your crease line.
Then take a gold coloured eye shadow, anyone would do, and put a light brush of that on top of the Deep Truth and blend that in as well. Then, using the usual black kohl eyeliner on the waterline, waterline under eyelash (tight line). Also use mascara on eyelashes, my fav mascara at the moment is Maybelline Falsies Volume Express.
To finish of this flirtatious look off, I used Mighty Aphrodite blusher on the cheeks. This is one of the two new blushes (the other being Amazon Princess, which has completely sold out on Mac cosmetics), also part of the Wonder Woman collection. It’s a two coloured compact containing a peach colour and pink.  I find with that blusher a little goes a long way, so you only need to swipe your brush through it once.  I also used a little Ambering Rose blusher also by MAC on top of the Mighty Aphrodite.  The Ambering Rose gives the cheeks a little more of a golden glow.
On my lips I used a mix of three M.A.C lippys, yes 3 but it works nicely... So I used Viva Glam 2 Lady Gaga edition, this colour is a very pale nude colour, for my complexion I found it very palebut after a little blot I put Marquise'd on top, from the new M.A.C collection, this colour is also a nude colour but not as pale as the Viva Glam 2, it has a slight brown tint to it. The third and final colour was Pink Friday, the very pale bright pink, the limited edition collabo from Nicki Minaj and M.A.C. The colours mixed together look uber sexy. even if you think the pink is going to be too bright for your complexion, what I done was mix a bit of deep pink lip pencil just before I added the Pink Friday lipstick & it looked absolutely gorgeous...
I’m going to add pictures of the look in another blog, because I’m such a nutcase I have misplaced the wires for my Camera, so I can’t download them onto my computer. *ROLLSEYES*
But on a whole, I love the collection it is definately something to get your mitts on if you loves make up like I do...
So peoples, sit tight for the pics, they will be posted soon...
P.S I have not forgotten about the Keyshia Dior Lipstick collection, Secret Kisses... I shall be getting those in a few weeks & I'll let ya'll see what thier about... and the new Quite Cute collection from M.A.C...
Anyhooooo... you guys take care & you all shall be hearing from me soon.

Smooches... XxX

Barry M Lipstick Looks

Lipstick looks

Hey people, it has been a while but I am back again with my lipstick looks.  I used Barry M lipsticks to create my looks.

First up is my favourite, the Robot Blue (148) a very daring colour indeed, this colour is not for the faint hearted.   It is very much a clubbing colour, not for day time wear at all. To get the colour to come right through its best to lightly cover your lips with powder foundation, some people   use concealer but I personally find that too heavy for the lipstick to stick properly.

Robot Blue

This colour is new to the Barry M collection, I think released during late summer. I’m not the only one feeling the blue lippy, celebs are fans of the blue lip as well including, Ke$ha, Amber Rose and Keyshia Dior.
Moving on from the Robot Blue, we have Pillar Box Red (121), a very seductive and sexy colour. Classic lip colour, you can never go wrong with red. Now, I have searched a while for that red that is right there, on point and I think I may have found it in this Barry M shade.   It is one of those colours that you can wear every day, not matter what time of day.  Again I used a light dusting of foundation powder on my lips, used Barry M lip liner in 3 and filled in my lips with the lipstick.

Pillar Box Red

Such a beautiful colour on.  And to think you can jazz up your lips with this lippy all for the price of £4.49. Not bad at all.
As well as these two colours l also tried out Lavender (143), Coral (53), Green ( 149).  With Coral I mixed that with Golden Bronze (136), to give it a slightly lighter shade.

Lavender
Out of the five colours I tried today I must say that the Robot Blue was my favourite. Its a fun vibrant colour that you won't see every day or even every club night.
So Robot Blue, I crown you lippy of the week...

So I encourage all you ladies to go out and buy it. Well I haven't seen it in any of the Boots or Superdrug branches that stock Barry M. So I would advise you to buy it direct from BarryM online. It would be the greatest purchase of all time.

P.s if anyone is interested in the Nail Varnish I am wearing in the pictures, that is also by Barry M and it is Spring Green, colour 290....

Until next week, where I will be reviewing Nicki Minaj collaboration with Mac for the Pink Friday Lipstick... (I'm a bit late with that review but I have been waiting a month for it to be delivered)...

So till then take care of yourselves...

Secret Kisses Lipstick

Right, so model/actress/stylist Keyshia Dior  is launching or has launched a range with Secret Kisses lipstick. The colours are very vibrant and definately in your face colours. I especially like the colour Electricity, a very blue shade and it looks hoooooottttttt!!!!!
Right now the website is doing a promotion for the lipstick, 3 for $40. So I am going to be making a purchase of all of the shades to try them out and when I do I shall be writing another blog to let you all know what their like.
(Will have to research if I can find them anywhere in England, cause so far I have seen no where)

So for now here are a few pics of the sexy girl herself Keyshia Dior modelling the colours....
Sky Pure  Seductive  Its a Girl  Midnight Velvet  Electricity

So they are a few of the colours that she has modelled on her site.  I can't wait to purchase these...
Until then.... Smoochies...

Celeb Styles of the week...

I will start up loading blogs every week of my favourite celeb styles, their make-up and nails....

So this week I’m starting off with a few of the outfits that were being donned by the celebs at the V festival.

Sarah Harding (Pictured on the left), I love this play suit, It’s from the Idol Collection at New look (£35). This is such a cool playsuit for the summer. What I like about the look is the fact that she has made such a casual look, teaming it with the pink scarf and a pair of winged glasses.

I think the studded knee high boots top the outfit off giving it an edge. This outfit look absolutely gorgeous, she rocked this well.

Another outfit that I adored was worn by Holly Willoughby, this floral maxi dress and red converse combo looked cute. She has kept the outfit simple teaming it with just a few rings and a small satchel bag. Very cute. (Picture shown on the right)

So while trawling the Internet and my weekly fashion magazines I came across a picture of Rochelle Wiseman of the Saturdays wearing what is arguably my favourite trousers of the autumn collection, a pair of Khaki slacks. These trousers are so cool, you can dress them up or you can dress them down to look really casual. Rochelle paired these trousers with multicoloured blue and white scarf, a white bag, brown belt around her waist and a pair of peep toe nude heels. Unfortunately at the time of writing this blog I could seem to find any pictures online. But the picture is in this week’s Look and More magazines. However Dorothy Perkins has a similar pair of the Khaki trousers in store now. They are £28, so not a bad price at all and will definitely be great for wearing coming to the end of summer going into the autumn.

Picture to the left is of the Dorothy Perkins Utility Trousers shown in black. Never the less these trousers look so smart and casual, will be snapping them up in both colours.

Other celebrity styles I have been loving this week come in the form of Kim Kardashian ( Pictured below left), this was taken at the LA Confidential Magazine party. Again very simple outfit, very little accessories. Its a Hanna Marshall dress worn with silver Christian Louboutin shoes.

Pictured here in a ‘who ran it best’ photo with Kristen Cavallari, Kim also teams this little number with a cream clutch bag. As usual her make- up is on point rocking her trademark smokey eyes, with gorgeous eyelashes.

Katy Perry ( Pictured right)was also out and about this week, making three dress changes in one day. Arriving at a New York Hotel she was pictured wearing a floral blue bandeau dress with a peach ballera cardigan and purple Christian Louboutin shoes. She did not wear any accessories with this outfit, which made the outfit look really nice and simple. It was a very lady-like outfit. The second outfit of the day was a red Herve’ Leger dress which she wore arriving at the Late Show., This dress looked really great on her, this was teamed with some red and gold chandelier earrings and a few red bangles and some fierce spiky gold Christian Louboutin Heels, which are amazing I love these shoes. The final outfit for the night which she wore as she was leaving the Late Show was a fluffy pink dress, a typical girly Katy Perry dress. She teamed this with some gorgeous pink lipstick and a pair of nude heels and simple accessories.

The Sugababes ( Pictured left) looked absolutely fabulous in these satin drape dresses, and cherry red lipstick and red nails in Jade and Heidi case, Amelle worked her dress with nude make-up.. All the girls look really gorgeous in these ‘It’ dresses of the moment.

Rihanna( Pictured below) wearing a Proenza Schouler Spring 2010 tank dress with shark fin paillette embroidery at the hem. The dress was teamed with a black waist clincher belt, black gladiator sandals and a pair of sunglasses. And her fiery red hair just set the outfit off a treat. I always love Rihanna style. Her make-up was kept to a minimum, with a hint of brown eye shadow and peachy blush. However she opted for the bright red lips which worked well and did not clash too much with her hair. However she kept her accessories to a minimal only wearing a gold pair of earrings and a black and gold bangle and a ring on both hands. Her nails were painted with a lovely mushroom colour which will be quit a big colour across the catwalks for the autumn/fall collections.

Well there my celeb looks of the week; stay posted for next week’s….

Smooches….
